Built after 1215 during the reign of Henry III, the castle ruins are an unmissable relic of British history.

With an excellent view of the Essex Marshes, Hadleigh Castle stands as a monument to Essex History. Entry to the castle and its grounds is completely free. While traversal is tricky, for those who can manage, it is definitely a fine spot to visit.
