Call of the Wild is a family-run Essex zoo based between Wickford and South Woodham Ferrers. It houses a wide selection of animals from zebras, armadillos, meerkats, tropical birds and more. Plan to catch one of the many events which run on site.

Activities
The Zoo has plenty of animals on site, from penguins, zebras, flamingoes and more. There are a variety of demonstrations and talks on different animals. Different events run during the school holidays and on weekends. For small children, there is a soft play area.
Education
The Zoo hosts school visits and higher education programs which can be arranged by liasing with their team.
Transport
South Woodham Ferrers and Wickford both have train links to London. Wickford station is on the train line to Southend.
For buses from Chelmsford, the 36 runs closest to the zoo. From Basildon, the 237 bus line stops closest.
Both train and bus require extra travel, either by foot, car or walking so Call of the Wild is best accessed via car if available. It has its own parking lot and can be reached via the A130.
