Things to do:

Being a public garden, it is fitting that the site hosts its own garden centre for visitors to buy plants, tools and other gardening supplies.

The site has two eateries. First, there is The Gardener’s Rest Restaurant and The Clover Café. Both restaurants are fully disability-accessible.

Viewing the gardens is a must for garden enthusiasts. Special events and flower shows run at certain times of year.

Child-friendly activities run throughout the year. Check the Hall’s schedules to find out the best time for you visit.

RHS Garden Hyde Hall is located up to 20 minutes from the centre of Chelmsford by car. Without a taxi or pickup, it is not best accessed via train.

Visitors can take a Bus 3 (Chelmsford to Southend) from Chelmsford Bus Station in the city centre to Hyde Hall. The bus service stops a couple of times a day, Monday – Saturday (except Bank Holidays).

The Hall puts on a variety of gardening workshops aimed at children and schools. These cater for children of various ages and ability levels.
